Insulation for year-round work in North Florida: what to know

If you plan to work through July and the odd January cold snap, insulation is chosen with the building, not added later. Roof insulation does the most good because the roof takes the sun all day; walls follow. Faced blankets installed with the panels cost less up front, while closed-cell spray foam seals gaps and stiffens the panels. Either way, the result should be a tight shell that a correctly sized mini-split or heater can keep comfortable without running constantly. Ask how the eaves and door frames will be sealed, since small gaps there undo a lot of insulation.
